A juvenile Camarasaurus

A couple of weeks ago I showed the skull of this young animal but there’s rather more of it than that. It’s hard to see, even close up, what is bone and what is sculpted, but there is a fair bit of real material in this mount. It’s a lovely piece and very well put together.

Given the seemingly odd angle between back and neck, and the recent “sauropod neck posture” debate, what’s the current take on the actual posture of the neck? Also, where does the typical skull position (with almost horizontal vertebrae behind it) come from?
