If you know what this is or can guess, then please keep it to yourself. In order to avoid this happening again (or at least reduce the effects), we’re trying to keep this from the mainstream media till tomorrow. Sp please don’t blog or write about it just yet. If you don’t know, you can get a bit excited because all will be revealed very soon. Thanks for your help.

I never thought I’d say this, but does anyone take ease of pronunciation into consideration when naming taxa? I mean, I have seen some descriptions that include an “intended pronunciation,” which is great, but maybe, you know, give it a name that doesn’t warrant rectifying the pronunciation in the paper? Just a thought!

I look forward to the article. I’m just blown away by how diverse this family has become in the last decade or so.

Yeah, I do. You’ll see a comment about this in the coming post (just a couple of hours now) and as an aside, one of the things I forgot to add to the paper (and don’t know if it’s too late) was a pronunciation guide.
