My recent paper on the Ask A Biologist project is now actually in print in the journal Evolution: Education and Outreach. Fellow AAB-er Mike Taylor has blogged about it at SV-POW! and we are expecting to get a couple of high-profile blog and media mentions in the near future.

However, our long term goal has always been grassroots growth through simple advertising and word-of-mouth spread. In this we have been mildly successful, but never done too well and I’ve long suspected that this is because we lack any kind of actual advertising material other than a nice logo. To this end, the lovely people at Art Evolved have kindly set their members to the task of making some AAB posters for us. These will go up online and form a pool of material for others to draw from when pimping the site which will aid us enormously. If you want to take part or just see the incoming efforts than pop over and take a look.

Now that everyone has started to blow off their steam about the Gregory Paul emails (a very big deal among the AE crowd) I think we’ll start to see some result pop up in the next week. There is definate interest. Let you konw the instant we start to get in some sample works!

Thanks again. I’ll be keeping a keen eye on the site this next week or so. I know art can take time to produce, but I’m hoping they’ll be a few simply photograph-based ones coming soon.
