As far as I’m concerned my own credibility as a palaeontologist is slightly tarnished by not having been on a major dig. I have done some basic prospecting in Germany, and went out, found and cast some footprints in Peru, but it’s not quite the same. (Pictured is Dave Unwin, Jungchang Lu and myself looking at eggshell pieces in Henan).
However all that is about to change….
I’m off tomorrow to Inner Mongolia with Xu Xing, Jim Clark, Corwin Sullivan and Johan Choiniere, plus a large IVPP team to go dinosaur hunting. As a result the musings will be rather barren of posts for the next few weeks. I do have some saved up though, so they will be coming thick and fast on my return, hopefully with a few photos and stories to go along with them. Obviously I’ll not be replying to comments and won’t be able to approve any either for new people. TTFN.
Intriguing. What formation will you guys be digging in?
We covered some Early and Late Cretaceous formations, more to come in some proper posts shortly.
