Echoing the sentiments of everyone else, I say there can never be too much Allosaurus. From what I can see, in those three posts,it looks like there’s quite a bit of variation in the lower temporal fenestra on each of those skulls. Is it genuine variation, preservational distortion, or simply a result of differing reconstructions of the skulls, or something else?

Thank you for showing those museum exhibits! where I live now there are no museums of natural history.
The web and books are my only sources for seeing these amazing beasts.

Too bad most books only show a lateral view of the specimens so it’s very difficult to imagine these creatures in depth.

“Big al” has been rather in the shadow of his bigger, badder relative, T-Rex..

While his bite wasn’t bone shattering like a T-Rexes, he was no slouch in the killer dino department.
I do wish however that there were more books describing the life that existed before the mesozoic period.

Earth is a awesome place!

Can never have too much Allosaurus… it is so economic yet elegant in design. Kind of like the Honda Civic of theropods.
